Certified Green - 1917 H.H. Felder House


Fisher Park, Greensboro

 

This remarkable historic home qualifies as a  Green Certifeid home per the NAHB's National Green Building Guidelines, as certified by the NAHB Reasearch Center.  It is one of the first historic homes in the nation to receive this coveted designation.

 
This home was also recognized by Preservation Greensboro as an oustanding project for 2009/2010.

Basic description of work:

- Energy Star and Certified Green Designations pending

- Replaced cedar shake shingles and roof shingles, insulated exterior walls with foam insulation.

- Restored all exterior windows

- Restored exterior trim and masonry

- Restored all wood floors, wall finishes, plaster, trim, and interior doors

- Renovated kitchen, pantry, master bathroom, and guest bathroom with period correct lighting

- New sun room addition with reclaimed picture windows and stain glass windows

- Significant structural renovations, replacement, and modifications

- HVAC, electrical, and plumbing renovations including clean crawl, dry basement, and tankless hotwater system
