Fisher Park Condo Renovation
This family came to Southern Evergreen with a beautiful vision of what their 1980s Fisher Park condominium could be. Using principles from the interior design book series Not So Big House by Sarah Susanka, Southern Evergreen's Steve Johnson and Nora Miller have recreated a contemporary "loft" space within this condominium. The design features rich cherry and maple cabinetry, professional grade Energy Star rated appliances, glass sliding partition doors, custom window seat and fireplace, "dog room," no-VOC paints, quartz counter tops, and state-of-the-art LED recessed lighting. The main goal was to enhance the precious little natural daylight that was available and open up the space for entertaining. This has been achieved by removing select interior walls, widening doors, using bright colors, and restoring lighter wood floor finishes. The design process between Southern Evergreen and the client was close and collaborative. The creative process concentrated on unifying design principles, research and implementation of sustainability and energy conscious technologies, and incorporation of form and function devices. The unique relationship resulted in extensive, honest, and challenging debate and critique of the entire design. The continuing design and ongoing construction processes continue to yield creative dialog and a positive relationship while completing the client's vision for their home.
The entire project was designed using 3D software.
