Sun and Shade is related to the direction your home faces (north, south, east or west).  Sometimes referred to as "home siting"

We can't easily change the direction your home faces, but depending on its direction, there are many techniques to shade your home from the hot summer sun and allow warm winter sun to heat your home.

• Plant more canopy type trees
• Use lighter colored materials for roofing, decking, and driveways
• Use shrubbery below windows.  Use Canopies, awnings, shutters, or long overhands
• Use an energy efficient site plan by placing trees and shrubbery at strategic locations. Have adequate and proper attic ventilation
