Tom Garcia CGP | Builder/Engineer

A graduate of Louisiana State University College of Engineering, Tom has worked in project and company management for more than twenty years.

Starting as a Project Engineer for a Fortune Five Corporation, Tom advanced through various levels of engineering and corporate management positions. In 1998, Tom formed Garcia Homes, Inc. to fulfill a lifelong desire to build custom homes.

In 2002, Tom earned the distinction of becoming the Greensboro regional exclusive builder of Southern Living homes.

In 2006 Tom transformed Garcia Homes into Southern Evergreen, LLC, carrying out his vision to assemble a team of professionals to assist customers with all phases of the home building process.

In 2008 Tom was one of the first builders in North Carolina to be designated a Certified Green Professional (CGP) by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) and is, foremost, a proponent of High Performance Homes.

Tom's interest in High Performance Homes and construction has led him to obtain his Real Estate License. He assists his customers in finding homes that are well constructed, and will be able to hold their value for years to come.

Home design and function has been a passion for Tom since childhood, and has always enjoyed touring older homes and estates.  Tom is  partial to Southern Living home plans, since the designs incorporate the  use of natural light, good traffic flow and provide an understated elegance that is rarely matched by other home plans.

Tom is also the host of "Fix-It-Friday" on the WFMY News 2 Good Morning Show.  He is Mr. Fix-it.
